On Jan 24th, we had our honourable guest from Japan Association of Corporate Executives visiting INPR. They had shared ideas on different issues with the Executive Director, Kuo Yu-jen. There was a very good atmosphere at the talks.
On Feb 1st, the director of TSJS Lin Wen-cheng, the vice director Chen Wen-chia, and the secretary general Kuo Yu-jen attended the dinner party held by Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association. They had discussed the future cooperation on promoting the Japanese research with the vice representative Nishiumi, the director of media and culture Matsumura, the director Sakura, and the director Shiozawa from Japan-Taiwan Exchange Asociation.
On Jan 1st, TSJS and INPR held a forum on “The Impact of M503 Route to Strait Relations and Asia-Pacific” at the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation, which was chaired by the president of TSJS, Lin Wen-cheng (Senior Advisor of National Research Institute).
We had Professor Weng Ming-xian from Tam Kung University, Vice Executive Director Yan Jian-fa from Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, Professor Ma Zhen-kun from National Defense University, and Professor Kuo Yu-jen from Sun Yat-sen University joined this event. Their thoughts on this issue had impressed all the participants.
The director of Ocean Policy Research Institute, Sunami Atsushi visited Taiwan from Jan 4th to Jan 6th. We were thankful to have him sharing his thoughtful ideas on Strategies of Maritime Affairs and Ocean Policy during his visiting to relevant divisions.

Co-hoseted by TSJS and Center for Japanese Studies (National Taichung University of Science and Technology), the Third Japan Research Youth Forum was held on June 9th, 2017 in Taichung. In the Opening Remarks, President of National Taichung University of Science and Technology, Dr. Hsieh Chun-Hung and Presiend of TSJS, Lin Wen-Cheng both encourages students to participate Activities such as Youth Forum so that they can have more academic experiences. Finally, Dr. Fan Shi-Ping as the director of board members of TSJS gave a keynote speech on the topic about "Strategic Competition between Taiwan, Japan and China: The Development and Significance of Three Bilateral Relations."
