  This course is designed to introduce the changes of Japanese politics, economy, society, and culture through films at different stages of Japan from late Tokugawa Bukufu, Meiji Restoration, Taisho Democracy, WWII, American Occupation, rapid economic growth era, bubble economy and lost decade, to current transition period. Other than films and class discussion, the course will also guide students to collect related materials on the studies of Japan.
