The National Sun Yat-sen University's Center for Japanese Studies was delighted to host Keio University (of Japan's) Kamo Tomoki, Associate Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, visit and give a lecture on April 17, 2013. Professor Kamo's lecture, titled “Contemporary Sino-Japanese Relations: Turning Points,” focused on the history and causes of breaks and changes in Japan's relations with China and Japan's use of Official Development Assistance (ODA) during these periods to discuss the succession of events and the effects of ODA on the changes in the relationship. 
Due to Professor Kamo's proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, he was able to discuss these issues quite readily and easily with the Center for Japanese Studies' Master's degree students and helped them to better understand Sino-Japanese relations and the relationship's future trajectory.
