Japanese Foreign Policy-Syllabus

  This course is designed to increase students’ comprehension on Japan’s international relations as well as its foreign policy (and policymaking). It will discuss key issues such as the main factors affecting Japan’s foreign policy, Japan’s economic influences, and the changes of U.S.-Japan relations. In addition, this course will include some fundamental studies on foreign policy related literatures and theories. The course design will help students to approach some key research questions on Japan’s foreign policy such as how U.S.-Japan relations will impact the development and stability of Asia’s political economy, what roles will Japan take in maintaining the stability of Asia-Pacific.
